Once upon a time, a boy from a small town in Italy found his first job at the oldest restaurant in Rome. He discovered his passion was cooking for others. He loved seeing their happy faces and their cleaned plates.
Day after day the boy dreamed of opening a restaurant with paintings on the ceiling, just like the ones he saw in Rome. In 1984 he moved to America to make his dream happen. In 1993 he opened up that little restaurant and now for more than 25 years, Assaggio Ristorante in Seattle is where the passion for food, wine, and hospitality meet, with love, from Mauro.
